Cubans get their appliances back!

Posted by lt on March 15, 2008

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7295714.stm

All of us were probably unaware of this, but before now, Cubans weren’t allowed appliances, even toasters.  Actually, toasters still aren’t allowed till 2010.

The problem is that they don’t have a good electricity system, and it’s good that the new president Raul Castro is doing something.  As the Soviet Union fell Cuba suffered badly too.  I’m not sure on the political link between these two countries but I only hope it improves.

Another bank falls apart

Posted by lt on March 14, 2008

In this article, it looks like another bank, in the US, is falling apart.  And guess who has to pay for it.

Yep, just like with the Northern Rock business, where each family had to pay a ridiculous £3000, too much support is going into these businesses because the economy depends so much on them.  They’re taking over.

Spam them!

Posted by lt on March 12, 2008

Some people reach a stage in their lives when they hit Pokemon, and stop.  They spend all their time on consoles battling other, complaining, talking about their Pikachu and conversing on forums such as this one.

I say spam them.  I don’t know when these people ever grow up (they’re 14+), so I just have to keep reminding them.

http://snap96.forumsvibe.com/ , another prime example, has 1500 members.  Only 108 of them have actually posted at all, yet the sad top 10 (250-2600 posts) love to spend all their hours boasting about all the members on their board.  This forum has now shut down thanks to attempts by myself and others to show them the world of girls, walking and everything else good.

Blowing Up The World

Posted by lt on March 12, 2008

Read the story here

Another news article looked at today, some more scientists who want to destroy the world with their technology.

Scientists have quashed suggestions that a £350m experiment planned for the autumn could cause the destruction of the Earth’

In our stupid, trying-to-be-god way, once again we’re trying to do something to prove us amazing again with a chance of destroying the world over. They’re accelerating gold at such breakneck speeds and whacking them together there’s a chance a black hole will be created.

I mean, what’s the point? Why can’t we be thankful for what we’ve got and focus more on saving the environment rather than trying to do more wonderful things that could kill us all?

Vampires Really Exist?

Posted by lt on March 12, 2008

Two lesbian lovers, one of whom who drank blood as part of a vampire cult, battered a 16-year-old British girl with a concrete block and then celebrated with a kiss as she lay dying.

Read it all…

I’m sitting there thinking, vampires really exist? I know this was news a few days ago but it’s an interesting phenomenem. Wikipedia claims they’re mythological but obviously not, if these two can get sexually aroused by drinking blood.

Still, it’s a pretty horrible thing. Newspapers always elaborate *cough*look at the picture to the right and the lighting* but still, the prospect of a few bloodsucking women hanging around scares me.

Some more articles about vampire cults.

ConquerClub

Posted by lt on March 11, 2008

One of my more favorite pastimes, ConquerClub is a version of the game RISK. RISK is a great game as it is but with tens of thousands of players playing and ability to play many more game options, it’s pretty good. Obviously it’s nothing like online games such as WoW but it’s not as addictive (good) yet still fun.

If you want to try it click here.
